Can a ChristianBe a Socialist?

As socialism becomes increasingly popular among young Americans—and gains a growing hearing even among churchgoers—Christians must examine its promises and underlying worldview through the teaching of Scripture.

In this episode, Dr. Walter Swaim explains why concern for poverty, injustice, corporate greed, and the vulnerable is deeply biblical, but socialism is not necessarily the biblical solution. He  also recounts his sobering visit to Cambodia’s Killing Fields and the infamous Killing Tree—not to suggest that every socialist desires such an outcome, but to warn what can happen when political power is separated from biblical truth, human dignity, and moral restraint.

So can biblical Christianity be consistently combined with Marxism as a complete worldview? That is the deeper question addressed in this episode.
