In this video, I take you into my kitchen to make Guatemalan rice tamales, also known as pachitos, a traditional Christmas dish that takes time, patience, and a lot of love.I’m from Guatemala, and this year I decided to make pachitos for my American family so they could experience a small but meaningful part of Guatemalan Christmas culture. From soaking and grinding the rice, to preparing the recado (sauce), wrapping the tamales, and steaming them for hours, I share the entire process step by step. This video is also a Spanish learning experience. As you watch, you’ll hear real, natural Spanish used in context, connected to food, family, and traditions. It’s perfect for Spanish learners who want to improve their listening skills while learning about Latin American culture.
