Mangalananda Das was a pioneer of non-traditional Indian music in the early days of ISKCON. After "renouncing" his musical aspirations (and instruments!), in order to join the temple, he found an acoustic guitar in the basement of the Columbus, Ohio, temple and was encouraged to write songs and sing about Krishna. From that point on, Mangalananda went on to write many songs, produce albums and perform his music throughout the country.
