Grab your diving suits and check your oxygen levels, because this week on the You Run Podcast, we are descending 7 miles to the bottom of the Mariana Trench to revisit the absolute pressure-cooker of a movie that is Underwater (2020)!

Starring a platinum-blonde, relentless Kristen Stewart, William Eubank's sci-fi creature feature skips the boring backstory and plunges us straight into pure claustrophobic survival chaos. We dig into why this fast-paced, Alien-meets-Lovecraft thrill ride is a criminal underrated gem. Trapped on the shelf for years during the Disney-Fox merger, Underwater finally hit theatres in early 2020—only to have its box office crushed as early COVID concerns and looming theatre shutdowns snuffed out its run before word-of-mouth could take hold. We give this aquatic nightmare the love and second look it truly deserves!

As always, we’re keeping it interactive:

  • 🎧 Listener Voicemails: We hit playback on your calls to hear your favourite deep-sea horror moments and absolute worst underwater fears.

  • 💬 Three-Word Reviews: You sent in your short, punchy, and hilarious takes on the film—we read them all and give our reactions!

  • 🧠 Marc's Quiz Night: Think you know deep-sea terror? We put Marc to the ultimate test to see if his movie knowledge on Aquatic Horror floats or sinks to the bottom of the ocean floor!

Put on your heaviest suit, watch out for Cthulhu-sized leviathans, and enjoy the show!
