Kodal Minerals PLC (AIM:KOD) CEO Bernard Aylward discusses the latest progress at the Bougouni lithium project in Mali, where production, exports and cash generation continue to gather pace.

Despite a temporary crushing circuit issue that impacted quarterly output, Aylward told Proactive's Stephen Gunnion that operations have returned to target levels and the mine has achieved a major milestone by making its first repayment to Kodal Mining UK, demonstrating that Bougouni is generating positive cash flow.

The interview also covers strong lithium prices, regular spodumene shipments, disciplined cost control and how the operation has maintained production despite logistical challenges in Mali.

Looking ahead, Aylward outlines the company's priorities over the next 12 months, including maintaining steady production, continuing regular exports and advancing plans for the Stage Two flotation plant with joint venture partner Hainan Mining.

"The lithium price is strong. We're producing and exporting... we're able to generate cash and now start to repay the shareholders," Aylward says.
