IXICO PLC (LSE:IXI, OTC:PHYOF, FRA:PYPB) CEO Bram Goorden spoke with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the company’s strong full-year performance, accelerating growth, TechBio strategy and expanding opportunities in Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and AI-driven biomarker technology.

The numbers back it up. IXICO expects revenue of £8.3 million for the year to 30 September, up 28% on £6.5 million and ahead of the upgraded guidance issued in July. The order book has climbed to £16 million, year-end cash stands at £10.4 million after April’s fundraise, and EBITDA is now expected to improve on the previously guided £1.7 million loss.

Goorden said the performance reflects disciplined execution of the “Innovate, Lead, Scale” strategy introduced 12 to 18 months ago, which has deepened IXICO’s presence in Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s research and extended it into blood-based biomarkers. The approach has attracted new customers, expanded existing projects and increased activity as clinical programmes move from Phase 1 into Phases 2 and 3. He also pointed to improved gross margins, with EBITDA finishing ahead of expectations despite continued investment in growth.

On the market opportunity, Goorden highlighted more than 150 Alzheimer’s programmes currently in development, along with recent therapeutic and diagnostic approvals as evidence of progress across the sector.

The interview also explored the TechBio strategy, introduced alongside the £10 million fundraise in April, under which IXICO plans to build on its AI-driven platform through investment, automation, standardisation and partnerships. “The themes have been automation, standardisation and partnering,” Goorden said, adding that investment in specialist people, platform development and disease-area expertise matters because AI still depends on human expertise.
