In September 2009, 31-year-old Karitha Carroll and her three-year-old daughter, Jamaya, were found murdered inside their home in Cary, Mississippi. What followed was an investigation marked by conflicting theories, controversial decisions, arrests, and a confession that ultimately fell apart. Nearly seventeen years later, no one has been held accountable for their murders.

In this episode of Black Girl Gone, I tell the story of Karitha and Jamaya, and the long search for answers in a case that remains unsolved.
