So over the past two weeks alone we’ve had Butters and Dale out for virtually the entire season, and on the weekend we added to that list with “The Detective” in Max Holmes ruled out for the remainder of 2026 with a fractured ankle and syndesmosis that requires surgery.
At this rate we’ll be out of trades by next week - if we aren’t already! I can’t remember a season as ridiculous as this with LTIs left, right and centre. We’re beyond trying to upgrade our sides now, it’s literally survival of the fittest - literally!
I liken it to a horror slasher like Scream ,where a group of friends are getting picked off one by one by a masked killer. Who’s next?
But for those of us with a trade remaining to bid farewell to Holmes - as we did with Butters last week - we’ll table some of the best options to consider as replacements, along with a couple of others on other lines who should be under strong consideration for those with DPP swings.
