Riding the Struggle Bus: Sharing Mental Health Challenges

Today we revisit a recording never published from a year ago, exploring the challenges of sharing with mental health struggles. 


Episode Highlights:


• I look at  the difficulty of deciding how much to share about personal struggles, especially regarding mental health issues.


• I share  my coping strategies that I tried (that were hard to actually do when struggling):

  - Using meditation 

  - Setting a 25-minute timer to complete tasks

  - Journaling to process thoughts and feelings

  - Prioritizing exercise and socialization


• I discuss balancing vulnerability with the concern of worrying loved ones.


• The importance of Resilience to deal with  recurring episodes of struggle


• The value of learning and practicing coping skills during better times to build resilience for future challenges.


• The importance of seeking help and talking about your experiences.
