Welcome to the Plant-Based Canada Podcast! In today’s episode, we’re joined by Andrew Arcello, the first plant-based baker on The Great Canadian Baking Show.
In this episode, we talk about the power of baking for connection, some favourite tips, the plant-based journey and raising kids, and of course his experience on the show.
Andrew is a drama and music teacher from the Greater Ottawa area, and as the show’s first plant-based baker brings an impressive command of both the arts and sciences. Andrew has a gift for understanding ingredients while adding flair and drama to his dishes.
He encourages people to embrace their curiosity when approaching plant-based baking and have fun. He says about being on The Great Canadian Baking Show, “Being plant-forward is something so many are interested in, but maybe apprehensive about trying. I hope to connect with people over my passions and maybe some methods they haven't seen before.”
The Great Canadian Baking Show celebrates Season 10 when the show returns to the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) on Oct 4, 2026.
