Mariam speaks openly about some of the challenges she faced in the English language classroom. She has completed several courses in the Health Sector, the first being Health Services, Aged Care and Disability and is currently working at the Brotherhood of St. Laurence as a home carer. Mariam has always been a very determined individual and strives to achieve her goals no matter how difficult the task may be.
