Dr. Metcalfe started her career as a general dentist. She has treated oncology patients at some of Canada's most prestigious hospitals. After experiencing several burnouts, Jessica worked on her own mental health and now works with professionals from all walks of life to manage their own.  Through this she founded The Alchemist Dentist,  providing dental professionals with one-on-one coaching and empowerment programs along with lectures/workshops for larger groups.
