LSU's New Additions Ruled INELIGIBLE by the SEC | What's next for Lane Kiffin? | Joe Schwartz Joins!

Dela

In a unanimous 16-0 emergency vote on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, SEC presidents and chancellors granted commissioner Greg Sankey full authority to enforce this rule. Strikingly, LSU’s own university president fell in line and voted for the ban. LSU head football coach Lane Kiffin has been vocal about the ruling, calling out the conference on The Pat McAfee Show for a "moralistic double standard". Kiffin defended his aggressive transfer portal maneuvering by stating LSU was simply following valid court orders. He also revealed that rival powerhouse programs—including those in the SEC—were actively trying to bid for Wright's services via agent Drew Rosenhaus before LSU won the sweepstakes.Because the SEC made it clear that defying this policy could result in a $1 million fine or complete disqualification from the season, Kiffin and LSU have no choice but to fold. Kiffin's focus shifts entirely back to developing his standard roster ahead of the highly anticipated season opener against Clemson.
