Over the course of our conversation you will hear us talk about the phenomenon of the Three Dragon (Jackie Chan, Yuen Biao and Sammo Hung), the idea of leaving Wu Xia stories behind and doing a kung fu movie in a more familiar period setting and the guts it took to stage a production as lavish and vast in scope as this one. We also talk about how this movie barely makes any sense as far as plot is concerned, Jackie Chan's daredevil stunts including the iconic clock tower fall paying homage Harold Llyod's Safety Last, Chan's unmatched athleticism and whether it's enough to love this movie despite its other blatantly obvious shortcomings.
