HAWKBINGE RETURNS with a monster of an episode: so much Hawkwind news to catch up, the big release from 1995 to dissect and the big bonus of a chat with our good friend Joe Banks about his most excellent new Hawkwind book “Sideways Through Time”. Prepare to abducted by the Hawkbinge podcast and not returned to reality for several hours…

So, we’re still in 1995 for Hawkwind’s second release of that year, “Alien 4”. Some new faces in the mix for an album based largely around the concept of alien abduction. We check out the first appearances for both Ron Tree and Jerry Richards, deep dive into  this maybe-kinda-concept album, ponder who the aliens really are and finish up with some Space Sex. No, really.
 
As ever, we also look back at the music scene in the latter part of 1995, check out the state of the band at the time and explore the album art, while also adding tracks to the forthcoming Hawkbinge Sessions Vol 7 playlist on Spotify from albums we've been listening to in between our respective alien abductions.
