Weed management on Long Island differs from the rest of NY. The smooth, sandy soils are great for cultivation but necessitate restrictions on certain herbicides that pose a risk to groundwater. Weed scientist, Dr. Andrew Senesac, discusses his work on Long Island searching for new solutions such as living mulches and potential specialty crop herbicide registrations through the IR-4 project.
