Sometimes an apology isn't enough.

Not because the person hasn't taken responsibility. Not because nothing has changed. But because you still need them to feel bad.

In this episode of The Positivity Xperience, we're looking at what happens when guilt stops being part of accountability and starts becoming emotional currency.

Why can seeing someone feel guilty make us feel better after they've hurt us? Why do some people repeatedly reopen a mistake even after it's been acknowledged? And how do you tell the difference between needing legitimate repair and needing another person to suffer before you're willing to let the emotional debt go?

We'll talk about guilt versus shame, why remorse can help repair relationships, how guilt can be used to create leverage, and why the amount someone suffers is not necessarily evidence of how much they've learned.

And then we're turning the mirror around.

Because sometimes what we call "holding someone accountable" is actually our need to see proof that they're hurting too.

Accountability matters. Repair matters. Changed behavior matters.

But if the only thing that makes you feel better is watching the other person feel worse, that's no longer repair.

That's pain being transferred.
