Nothing is obvious to the uninformed ... yet so often when we communicate we assume that our audience knows what we're talking about.

I've been reading award entries this week and so many of them don't make it obvious what they do. It's a lost opportunity for them to make an impression and to make an impact with the judging panel.

It's not just award entries where this happens though:

  • describing your business
  • describing your role in government
  • introducing yourself at networking functions
