President Trump Announces 300,000 Metric Tons To Enter The U.S.
In his statement last Friday, President Trump highlighted a 90-day agreement aimed at reducing ground beef prices, citing a significant increase in costs and a reduction in the American beef herd during the Biden administration. The plan involves importing up to 300,000 metric tons of ground beef without out-of-quota tariffs, with a commitment that this product will be sold at 25 percent below current market rates. He framed the deal as a measure to lower costs for consumers while supporting the rebuilding of the domestic beef herd.
