There may be legitimate fear that further trauma may ensue and that spiritual leaders cannot be trusted. Some people may think that online community, Christian coaches, podcasts, or a support group are sufficient for discipleship and understanding God's Word. But the local church with faithful leaders is vital for the Christian and is instrumental in testifying of Jesus Christ.
