Prisoners of Rock and Roll is a podcast about music, the people who make it, and the almighty power it has over so many parts of our lives. Music is therapeutic in a lot of ways.
But today, we're taking that idea a whole lot deeper by exploring the actual therapeutic benefits of music, especially for our veterans. We’re joined by Tim McAlee, a board-certified music therapist and U.S. Army veteran, to talk about how music can be used to help veterans cope with trauma, express things that aren't always easy to put into words, and connect with other people.
Because there's a difference between putting on a record that makes you feel better and using music as actual therapy.
