What does it actually take to create a relationship that's deeply safe, wildly passionate, and rock solid? Not just on the good days, but in the hard moments too?
After almost a decade of coaching women in their relationships, and walking through my own marriage alongside it, I've come to believe there are really only two skills that separate the women who create extraordinary relationships from the ones who stay stuck in painful patterns for years. Just two.
In this episode, I walk you through both of them, starting with a raw, unfiltered story from my own marriage earlier that morning. A rupture with my husband Ani, a pattern I inherited from my mother, and the exact moment I had to face the uncomfortable truth that I wasn't quite who I thought I was.
This episode is for you if you've ever felt like you keep repeating the same patterns in your relationship, if you've done a lot of "inner work" but still can't seem to shift the dynamic with your partner, or if you've been sold the fantasy of a passionate, secure, adventurous relationship without anyone ever telling you what it actually costs to create one.
Reflection Questions (for journaling or voice memos)
Where are you currently discharging tension in your relationship instead of holding it?
What's one pattern you've been refusing to look at, because looking at it would mean you're not quite who you thought you were?
What did you learn about love and partnership from watching your parents, and which of those patterns are still running in your relationship today?
If you committed to becoming the woman who could hold what an extraordinary relationship requires, what would change starting today?
