Join us as we explore a haunting painting by the legendary Francisco Goya. We explore the life of Goya, his battle with illness which led up to the creation of the famed Black Paintings; all of which were never named and never released publicly. Our group discusses the striking chiaroscuro lighting of the piece, its enlightening composition, and the myth thought to be associated with this grotesque image. We end by posing the most important question of all: can something so grotesque still be "beautiful?"
