Description

Writing a book with one author can be complicated.

Now add five, ten, or even twenty authors to the mix.

Welcome to the world of anthologies.

In this episode of Write Effing Now!, Hilary Jastram breaks down what it takes to create an anthology without turning the entire project into chaos.

What You’ll Learn

  • What makes an anthology different from a traditional book.

  • What the lead author is actually responsible for.

  • Why communication should flow through one central person.

  • The difference between a foreword and an introduction.

  • How a note to the reader can create a personal connection.

  • What belongs in acknowledgments and an afterword.

  • How to structure individual author chapters.

  • Why every contributor needs a strong bio.

  • How calls to action can fit naturally into an anthology.

  • Why editors need to adapt to different writers.

  • How Track Changes and comments can simplify the editing process.

  • Why some industries need compliance reviews and disclaimers.

  • How clear expectations can prevent problems later.

  • Why AI shouldn't replace the author's actual writing.

Favorite Quote:
