What if the key to building high-performing teams isn't pushing people harder—but understanding them better?

In this episode of the Conscious Leadership Revolution Podcast, Susan Hobson sits down with Courtney Kessel, Head Coach of Princeton Women's Ice Hockey and former PWHL coach, to explore how  empathy acts as one of the most powerful leadership tools available today.

Drawing from her experience coaching elite athletes at every level—from professional hockey to the Ivy League—Courtney shares how her leadership philosophy evolved from prioritizing wins to developing people first. Together, Susan and Courtney unpack why emotional intelligence, trust, and human connection are not soft skills—they're competitive advantages.
