Dela

We are delighted to welcome our first guest, and someone who is well known throughout the industry, particularly by acoustics alumni of Salford and Liverpool Universities, Professor Andy Moorhouse.

Andy started out his undergraduate life as a Mechanical Engineer, studying at Nottingham University. In 1985 he joined the Acoustics Research Unit (ARU) at Liverpool University to undertake a Doctoral research in acoustics. After completing his PhD, he moved into consultancy.

We talk about lots of Acoustics elements with a focus on low frequency sound.

Andy also provides insight and guidance on ways to get into the industry and how he has enjoyed it so much over his career.

There's also a discussion about the latest acoustics news including the Windsor Hum disappearing, artificial crowd noise at NFL games and a harp performance in Andy’s Out House; with a beer thrown in there also.

Outside of acoustics, Andy is a talented jazz musician, and a qualified teacher of the Alexandra Technique, a process designed to retrain habitual patterns of movement and posture, benefitting physical well-being. Andy also delves into his work and training with the Alexander Technique.

You can also catch the full video version on YouTube if you search for Noise Busters.
