In the wake of Sen. Lindsey Graham's sudden death on July 11, President Donald Trump sent a heartfelt message on Truth Social remembering his personal relationship with the late senator and ordered all American flags throughout the United States to be flown at half-staff until 6 p.m on July 18.
South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster announced Monday that Darline Graham Nordone, Graham's sister, would fill the late senator's seat. Earlier on the same day, Trump posted on Truth Social recommending Nordone as Graham's replacement, saying, "This would be a fabulous tribute to Lindsey, who loved her dearly!"
Trump announced in a separate Truth Social post that the U.S. military will reinstate its blockade of Iranian ports. The president said that the United States will also begin charging a 20 percent reimbursement fee on all cargo ships going through the Strait of Hormuz to cover the costs of guarding the crucial waterway.
Nine European nations and Ukraine agree to form an anti-ballistic missile coalition. Kyiv is calling on them to start producing a Ukrainian defense system in part to bridge the time until Patriot missiles made under license are ready.
