School's out, the dorm shopping list is done, and move-in day is getting closer. But there's one thing almost nobody talks to incoming freshmen about: how you're actually going to manage once you get there.

In this episode, I sit down to break down what the first semester of college really looks like, including four phases nearly every freshman moves through: the Honeymoon Phase, the Dip, the Defining Window, and the road to feeling grounded again. Leslie Rose and I share our own stories, including a college dropout story that might surprise you, and get into the real, practical stuff that makes the difference: making friends when you don't know a single person, why sleep might be the most underrated academic strategy out there, how to build a routine that actually sticks, and how to ask for help before things reach crisis level.

Whether you're a soon-to-be freshman feeling excited, terrified, or some very specific mix of both, or a parent wondering how to support without hovering, this episode gives you a roadmap for what's ahead.
