Friends of the Rosary,
In today’s Gospel (Luke 13:31–35), Jesus refuses to abandon His mission despite Herod's threats.
"Go and tell that fox,
‘Behold, I cast out demons and I perform healings today and tomorrow,
and on the third day I accomplish my purpose.
Yet I must continue on my way today, tomorrow, and the following day,
for it is impossible that a prophet should die
outside of Jerusalem."
His determination reveals the courage that comes from fidelity to the Father’s will and his divine mission of salvation and redemption of the human race. Christ knows the suffering and crucifixion that await Him,
The Gospel today then reveals another dimension of Christ’s merciful heart:
His sorrow over Jerusalem illustrates the genuine compassion and tenderness of a mother who wishes to gather her children beneath her wings, even as they refuse His protection.
Jesus shows that authentic love endures even when rejected, remaining faithful to others' good despite opposition, misunderstanding, or suffering.
St. Augustine emphasized that God’s love continually calls humanity toward conversion, even when human freedom resists divine grace. The tragedy of sin lies in rejecting the very love that brings salvation.
Ave Maria!
Come, Holy Spirit, come!
To Jesus through Mary!
Here I am, Lord; I come to do Your will.
Please give us the grace to respond with joy!
