Marek Grechuta is one of the greatest personalities and representatives of Polish sung poetry. He is a genre of music specific to Eastern Europe, especially Poland and the Baltic States. In other cultures the notion of sung poetry as folk or folk-rock is explained. Characteristic for this genre is the use of poetic texts that were not written with the song in mind.
"Tyle było dni" of Mark Grechuta from 1971 is a song that is still being listened to, not aging, and its phenomenon is confirmed by the you tuba counters: in mid-May 2020 it had more than 69 million views and more than 10,000 comments from around the world.
