We sit down with Karina Ildor Jacobsgaard, one of the few people who has worked at the top of both Danish tennis and floorball.
Karina played on the ITF circuit, reached a career-high singles ranking of 432 and represented Denmark in the Fed Cup. After her playing days she stayed in the game as a club manager, consultant and national coach, and she is a diploma coach through the Danish Sports Confederation. She also holds a master's degree in strategy, organisation and leadership from Copenhagen Business School. Since September 2025 she has been the Director of Floorball Danmark, where she is working to rebuild and strengthen the national federation.
In this conversation we look at her career from several angles: what it was like to compete as a player, what she learned as a coach and leader in tennis, and why she made the move into floorball. We also ask what tennis can learn from the way floorball is organised, what she would change in Danish tennis if she could and of course several comparisons between Sweden and Denmark and tennis and floorball.
