Scientific Sense ® by Gill Eapen: Prof. Andrew Weaver is Professor of Earth and Ocean Sciences at the University of Victoria. He was the lead author to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) assessments. In 2007, the IPCC was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for efforts to build up and disseminate greater knowledge about human-induced climate change and to lay the foundations for measures needed to counteract such change.
