Happy New Year! Today, we will look at some of the basic points of Jodo Shinshu, a school of Pure Land Buddhism. FYI, a couple of head-scratching terms are thrown in there, but hey, what's Buddhism without a few of those!

In the second half, we will look at a possible Buddhist interpretation of the turbulent times we face. The nembutsu is how we can tap into the selfless humanity embracing all beings.
