The Oklahoma Sooners showcased their new look offense by playing nearly the entire game in 12 personnel (1 running back, 2 tight ends). QB John Mateer delivered a solid performance and the Sooners run game was solid even though it didn’t produce the number of explosive runs they want. Defensively, the Sooners gave up a little more than they wanted to the Miners offense but they were able to still produce a shoutout. They recap the best games of week 1 of college football: a VERY controversial ending in Michigan’s 13-12 win over Western Michigan and LSU DESTROYED Clemson 51-10. Ikard and Lehman give their “Winners & Losers of the Weekend”: Tulsa beat Oklahoma State 24-10, Oregon escaped with a 34-27 win over, UCLA handled Cal 45-24 and Rutgers got blown out 37-21 by UMass.
