This episode of The Neville Goddard Lectures Podcastfeatures the lecture summary read by Lynna K Teer, along with the full original lecture “He Is Dreaming Now” by Neville Goddard.
In “He Is Dreaming Now,” Neville Goddard explains that the world we experience is not separate from consciousness but is the living expression of God's imagination. Neville teaches that God is dreaming the dream of life through every individual, and that what we call reality is the outpicturing of states of consciousness occupied by man. Human experienceis therefore not accidental, but the unfolding of an imaginal drama taking place within the mind of God.
Neville reminds us that while we appear to be individualbeings moving through time, we are in fact participants in God's ongoing dream.
Every assumption we accept, every state we embody, and every inner conversation we sustain contributes to the experience we call life. The world faithfully mirrors the dream being dreamed within consciousness.
Scripture, when interpreted psychologically rather thanhistorically, reveals this divine mystery. The Bible describes God's descent into humanity and His eventual awakening within man. What appears to be the story of many individuals is actually the story of the one Being dreaming Himself into limitation until the appointed time of awakening arrives.
In this lecture, Neville clarifies:
- What it means that God is dreaming now
- How the world reflects the dream of consciousness
- Why states of consciousness shape the experiences of life
- How Scripture reveals God's descent into the human dream
- Why awakening brings recognition of the Dreamer behind the dream
Under The Law, man discovers that imagination createsreality by assuming and occupying new states of consciousness. As the dream unfolds, he learns that every experience corresponds to the assumptions he accepts as true. Through conscious imagining, he participates deliberately in the creative process.
Under The Promise, man awakens from identification with thedream alone and recognizes himself as the Dreamer. He realizes that God has been experiencing life through him all along, and that the entire drama of human existence has served the divine purpose of awakening to eternal identity.
The dream continues, but it is now understood from the perspective of the One who is dreaming it.
“He Is Dreaming Now” reveals that life is far morethan a sequence of external events. It is God's living dream unfolding through consciousness, inviting every individual to first understand the creative power of imagination through The Law and ultimately awaken through The Promise to therealization that the Dreamer and the dream are one.
