Savatage bassist Johnny Lee Middleton joins Metal Mayhem ROC to revisit the band’s 1990 era and the newly released live album Madness Reigns from the Gutter. Middleton reflects on Jon Oliva, Gutter Ballet, and the late Criss Oliva, his best friend and one of metal’s most revered guitarists.

Johnny also takes us inside Savatage’s relentless touring days, the evolution of the band’s sound, and bringing classic material back to the stage. Plus, he looks ahead to Savatage’s current run and the possibility of U.S. shows in 2027.
