The journey continues.

The Popcorn Poseidon and Dr. Dare return for Part 2 of our review of Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, and this time we’re going deeper into the movie, the adaptation choices, the characters, and some of the criticism surrounding it.

We talk about Nolan blending ancient mythology with modern language, surprising casting decisions, practical effects, character motivations, and some of the creative choices that have divided audiences.

There are also a few beefs to settle.

Why do people get so angry when an adaptation doesn’t match the version they imagined? How much should Rotten Tomatoes, IMDb, social media, or random reviewers influence whether you see a movie? And why are we apparently still having to remind everyone that you can actually watch something and form your own opinion?

We also dive into more behind-the-scenes trivia, physical media, streaming frustrations, puzzles within the story, and the incredible work that went into bringing this version of Homer’s epic to the big screen.

Most importantly: don’t just take somebody else’s opinion as truth. Remember what Levar Burton says?? Watch the movie and decide for yourself.
