Raised between worlds, from Jeddah to Lebanon and beyond, Sarah grew up in a home open to people, encounters, and conversation. That early sense of generosity would later shape many chapters of her life: from her social engagement through Skoun, Lebanon’s pioneering outpatient addiction center, to the transformation of her family house into Beit Trad, a guesthouse that has become a living expression of Lebanese hospitality. The conversation explores how a house can become more than architecture; how memory can be preserved through food, beauty, objects, and gestures; and how heritage can be lived rather than simply inherited. Through her book and through Beit Trad itself, Sarah offers a deeply personal reflection on family, belonging, transmission, and the emotional power of place.
