Genesis 6 gets weird fast.
The sons of God. The daughters of men. The Nephilim. A world so corrupted that God grieves what humanity has become. But what does any of this have to do with sex, and why should it matter to us now?
In this episode of The Naked Gospel, Wailer and Adena step into one of Scripture’s strangest passages and explore the possibility that Genesis 6 gives us a glimpse into a much larger spiritual conflict. Drawing heavily from Michael Heiser’s The Unseen Realm, they discuss the divine council, rebellious spiritual beings, ancient mythology, and the cosmic significance of human sexuality.
But the conversation doesn’t stay in the ancient world. Wailer and Adena wrestle with what Genesis 6 reveals about our bodies today: sex without responsibility, pornography, sexual brokenness, trauma, healing, marriage, intimacy, and the difficult practice of becoming more like Christ.
Because if sexuality can participate in the corruption of God’s creation, perhaps redeemed sexuality can also participate in its restoration.
Sex may be private, but it is never secret nor insignificant.
