From 20 to 22 October, the New to the Wall Foundation presents C.H.A.I.S.E.S. — The Social Geometry of the Luxembourg Gardens, at 24 rue Chapon in the Marais. Six artists — Jimmy Gardner, Allard van Hoorn, Quinn Lewis, Charlotte Tampol, Jessica Anne Schwartz and Wayne Pate — start from something every visitor to Paris has done: moving one of the green chairs in the Luxembourg Gardens. Four scenarios observed over a year (the sun-worshipper, the lovers' spat, the reader, the gathering) become sculpture, painting, drawing, kinetic scrolls, and a sound performance by Allard van Hoorn played on a Sénat chair from the garden.
The opening is Tuesday 20 October, 5–8pm, the evening before Art Basel Paris's VIP days. Entry is free.
