Esty’s goal her whole life has been to marry and have children, so her Orthodox Jewish community is shocked when she runs away. Her husband, Yanky is distraught but admits he knew she was unhappy. With the assistance of his somewhat sketchy cousin they discover zesty has gone a world away from their Nee York neighborhood to Berlin and go on a quest to find her.
Meanwhile Esty has escaped with the help of her piano teacher and lands in Germany with one contact, her distant mother. She soon makes friends and sheds her wig and works on embracing modern secular life.
