Texas freshman guard Austin Goosby is one of the most intriguing backcourt prospects in the 2027 NBA Draft class, and on this episode of Locked On NBA Draft we break down his game. The 6'5" guard out of Melissa, Texas, comes to Austin as a top-25 recruit with length, touch, and a high feel for the game.
We get into his offense, his defense, and what he needs to show at Texas this season. We also dig into NBA comparisons to Jeremy Lamb, Devin Vassell, Cam Christie, and Luke Kennard. Which one does he look like most? How much of his scoring comes from touch and shot-making, and how does his frame hold up against college and NBA competition? We also talk about where he could land on draft boards and whether he’s a one-and-done.
Subscribe to Locked On NBA Draft for daily prospect breakdowns, scouting reports, and draft coverage from the No Ceilings team.
I used 2027 and a one-and-done discussion again, so adjust if the pod took a different angle. The 6'5" height comes from Texas’s official roster.
