That dramatic 28-24 finish in Provo was sheer Big 12 trench violence, but coastal media suit-and-ties are already crying foul over the clock hitting zero.
When No. 8 BYU stood tall on the goal line to deny No. 2 Notre Dame on the final play, CJ Carr’s desperation pass hit the turf with a full second clearly ticking on the stadium clock. The Big 12 even admitted after the game that one second should have remained. But studio empty-suits whining about clock errors or uncalled pass interference are completely missing the point: Notre Dame was physically manhandled for sixty minutes in a high-altitude house of horrors.
Kalani Sitake’s squad didn't ask for legacy protection—they earned this win in the dirt. Bear Bachmeier put on an absolute blue-collar clinic, scoring three different ways and throwing the game-winning touchdown pass to Walker Lyons with under two minutes to go. When the Irish mounted their final drive, BYU’s defense flexed its muscles and leveled Notre Dame’s high-priced offense on four straight goal-line snaps.
Let the national media make excuses for blue-blood entitlement; the raw tape doesn't lie. Unblemished 6-0 BYU dragged Notre Dame into the deep water, out-hit them in the trenches, and proved the balance of power runs straight through the Big 12.
