I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Saturday morning, the 17th of October, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.
We start in 1 Corinthians 13:1:
”Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.”
Then we just move on a little bit further to 1 Corinthians 14:10:
”There are, it may be, so many kinds of languages in the world, and none of them is without significance.”
There are a great many languages in the world and folks, we need to get the Word of God, Jesus Christ, out to a dying world. We are not talking about Bible studies, we are not talking about history lessons. We’re talking about the undiluted love of Jesus Christ Himself, and the best way we can do that is to get the Bible into individual languages as quickly as possible.
That is why I have a great respect for two groups of people in this world. Number one, intercessors. Those who lock themselves up in their closet and pray every day for the power of God to be manifest in this dying world through the name of Jesus Christ, and secondly, the Bible translators of this world. Those people who are sitting in the jungle somewhere, I know some of them. They don’t see any anybody, nobody seems to notice them but they are committed to translating the Bible from English into unknown languages, and that’s what Paul is saying today.
One of the great leaders in this country once said, ”When you speak to a man in English you speak to his head, but when you speak to him in his mother tongue you speak to his heart.” Today, you and I need to start speaking to the heart of people. The world is desperate for love. If we look at the four Gospels, we will see that people flocked around Jesus just like bees around a honey pot. Why? Because they wanted to experience the undiluted love of Christ. Now you and I have that privilege. Let us not waste the time that we have on this earth. Let us not get involved in things that have no consequence for eternal life. Let us talk to people about the future.
Let us tell them that there is a God Who loves them. Let us tell them that there is a Christ Who is coming back soon to take His people back to Heaven with Him. Let us leave no one behind. Today, go out and love the people with the Word of God.
