If you went to Silverstone in the late 1970s, chances are you would have seen Jim Walsh starring in Formula Ford.


The local racer mastered the art of slipstreaming in the category around the circuit, and raced against future F1 stars. His legacy in FF1600 has been so long-lasting that the UK's largest championship now has a trophy named after him.
