What if real change isn’t about fixing who you are or uncovering someone you have always been, but allowing something genuinely new to emerge?

In this episode of the Sacred Changemakers Podcast, I’m joined by Adam Klein, Managing Partner and Senior Faculty at New Ventures West, a 40-year-old ICF-accredited coaching school in San Francisco. Adam is a PCC-credentialed coach, faculty member at Stagen Leadership Academy, and the creator of a powerful distinction he calls the Becoming Paradigm.

Much of human development rests on one of two assumptions: that we grow by improving our deficiencies or by uncovering an essential self hidden within us. Adam offers a third possibility. Becoming is a process of genuine emergence in which the person who arrives could not have been predicted from who they were at the beginning.

Together, we explore what becoming asks of us and the practices that create the conditions for our essential humanity to arise. We consider what changes when coaches stop holding a predetermined destination for their clients, why receptivity matters alongside agency, and how qualities such as love, creativity, and justice can emerge through the way we live, lead, and relate. This is a deep and thought-provoking conversation for coaches, leaders, and changemakers who sense that our familiar approaches to development may be too small for the moment we are living through, and who are ready to discover what becomes possible when we make space for the unexpected.
