Morning Mantra: "A different version of you exist in the minds of everyone who knows you."
Every person who has ever met you carries their own version of you and none of them have it quite right.
There are people who remember a very specific version of you. The version who is just starting out, the version figuring life out as they went, the version before certain experiences changed you. The version that was dealing with something really difficult or the version that was having a great phase in life.
Someone out there remembers you only had your worst moment. Someone else thinks you hung the moon. Both are certain they know you. Neither has the full picture.
Their version can be shaped by one conversation, one mood, one moment. None of them are quite the real you. And that's why you must remember that you are not responsible for the version of you that exists in other people‘s minds. Let them think they know you.
You are the only one who has been there for all of it. So stop shrinking or expanding to fit their version of you. The only one who truly knows you is you.
