In part 3 of the Global and Local Takeover series, we interviewed Executive Director of Surrey Urban Mission Society, Mike Musgrove. SUMS operates four shelters in Surrey, BC, providing meals and community connections for people experiencing homelessness, poverty, addiction, and mental health. We talk about the role of the church in this work and the impact of building relationships. It gets real when the conversation turns to naloxone, scooping poop, and what it means to be a bridge to hope.
