1. Knowing you are a winning player. Doubt brings outside thoughts of luck, bad dealer karma, etc into the mind 2. Poker outcomes aren’t personal. It’s a random distribution of cards that we don’t control. It may seem intentional but it’s random. When you win with AA vs KK 3 times in a row the other person got screwed. They were entitled to 20% of the pot. But you got all 100%. Three times. Remember those times. Not just the losing times. 3. You will experience just as many suck outs over time as your opponents. 4. Edge is realized in poker over time. One hand or one session or one week has no bearing on the profitability of a winning poker players stats sheet at the end of the year. 5. You aren’t entitled to get dealt good hands. You aren’t entitled to favorable flops, turns or rivers. Poker owes you nothing. 6. All you control are your decisions. The outcomes of hands is random. And over time the math will fall in your favor. But in the short time all you have are your decisions. Take pride and accomplishment in them. The profits will come if those are on point. 7. The money can’t matter. If losing stacks impacts your financial short term future then losing will have a great impact on your mentally. Tilt will live inside you. You won’t be able to control it or escape it. 8. Know when to quit, Tommy Angelo treats quitting as its own skill, and stresses that the decision to quit has to be made while you're still thinking clearly. 9. Play hours, not results. Playing a scheduled will get you accustomed to leaving for reasons other than “I was way up” or staying longer because “im so stuck” 10. Watch for winner's tilt. It’s sneaky and maybe even worse than loser tilt.
