In this episode we begin looking at the stories that Luke includes about women. In Jesus' time they were very much neglected and Luke makes a point of including them which Jesus had done and the other gospel writers had omitted. For example Luke includes Elizabeth the mother of John the Baptist and her blessing to Mary. Marys interaction with Gabriel of her concept of Jesus and her visit to Elizabeth, as well as The Magnificat of Mary. He also included Anna a prophetess who spoke out in the temple.
